Day 15 was probably the most exciting day of the diet so far. I lost 2 pounds on Day 15 and I did it without doing an apple day. Sure I lost more on Day 14, but that was because I ate apples all day. I can be proud of Day 15 because I followed the diet fairly well and still lost 2 pounds.
I did a ton of yardwork last night and that probably helped with the weight loss a lot. At the start of the diet it seemed like yard work and working out would make me gain weight, now it is the opposite and it is helping me lose a lot of weight fast.
I have found the best source of excercise for me lately is working in my yard. We just bought a new house, and the work we have to do is not maintenance type of yard work. We have to re-do our whole backyard, move stones around, weed a forest of weeds and plant all new trees and flowers. It is a lot of work and it is quite the workout. If I am going to do yard work though I might as well kill 2 birds with one stone and get in shape at the same time.
Another 2 pounds lost and I couldn’t be happier. I will be back on Monday to give a report on the weekend. My goal is to be below 220 on Monday, but we will see. Although it is only 2 pounds away, the weekends have been the hardest by far.
Current weight = 221
Total Weight Loss = 12 pounds
Day 14 was awesome – I lost 3 pounds!!! That was the biggest loss in a single day I have had since starting the diet. After the long weekend I decided to do an apple day yesterday, and I ended up going on a 8 mile hike after work. Those 2 things combined resulted in a lot of weight loss.
I wasn’t hungry at all during the day, and during the hike I had so much energy I wanted to run the whole time. I felt great afterwards and I am planning my next hike. I feel good and I want to get outside and enjoy the outdoors again, it has been awhile since I have had this type of energy!
I was so excited when I stepped on the scale this morning, it has been a long time since I could say that. I heve picked up my normal diet today and hopefully I will continue to lose.
Current weight = 223 pounds.
Total weight loss = 10 pounds.
I am back, Memorial Day weekend was as hard as I had anticipated. Although it was difficult, I was suprised by my weight loss results. Not suprised because I lost a ton of weight, but suprised because I stayed the same weight as I was before I left. That is right, I am still 226 pounds and holding strong. I thought I would gain weight for certain, but I was able to maintain my weight despite not eating the proper foods all weekend.
Not having a scale to track my progress also made for a tough weekend. I had no idea what my weight was doing day to day. I love seeing what is going on every morning and thinking back to what I did the day before to influence my weight. Then I can analyze what I need to do to get back on track losing the excess pounds.
Following my diet was almost impossible over the weekend. My family separates meals up into families, so a different family prepares different meals throughout the weekend. I was basically at the mercy of what was being made for each meal.
My strategy going into the weekend was to pick and choose things that would work and try my best to follow the diet. For the most part I did fairly well and I ate pretty healthy considering the food that was constantly available. I had a couple of burgers and hot dogs throughout the weekend, and passed on all junk food with the exception of a few potato chips for one meal. I drank a lot of Green Tea, and didn’t touch any sodas. I ate as much fruit as I could, I was glad I took some extra oranges to hold me over between meals, and help me during my meals. Looking back I wish I would have traded some of the fruit I ate with vegetables. I did eat some vegetables, but it would have been better to replace all of the fruit I ate with veggies.
I would consider the weekend a success. Although I didn’t lose weight, it is weekends like this that got me into trouble in the first place. I usually over eat on vacations, and I don’t exercise to make up for it. We went on a lot of walks with our kids, and got out as much as we could instead of sitting around doing nothing all weekend.
I hope everyone else had a great weekend and Memorial Day! It was great to honor all of the past and present troops that have done so much to provide us with the freedoms we enjoy!
Current weight = 226
Day 8 of the diet was frustrating in that I didn’t lose any weight. On the other hand I have to be grateful that I didn’t gain any weight either. I ate salads for lunch and dinner, only had 1 portion of fruit and did a ton of yardwork last night, I am not sure how I did not lose any weight. Oh well, today is another day!
I am very nervous for the upcoming weekend. It is memorial weekend and I will be going out of town for a couple of days. I will not have a scale to track my progress and I will probably not be able to post until next Tuesday. The hardest part will be we are going with family and we always have great food for every meal. It will take a lot of self restraint to not eat everything within my reach.
In other news, I am starting to play Indoor Soccer again. I will be joining a team very soon, my first game could be as early as Monday. That will provide some great exercise and motivation to get back in shape.
Wish me luck this holiday weekend! Hopefully I will be able to report next Tuesday that I defied all odds and lost some more weight.
I hope you all have a great memorial weekend, be safe out there!
I survived the Apple Day and I think it worked. If nothing else, it helped me re-align my goals for the HCG Diet and focus on what I am eating better. I went to the store in the morning and bought 5 apples, and a Sobe Lean Green Tea.
The greatest part of Day 7 was the fact that I found Sobe Lean Green Tea and I actually like it. That was one of the things Angie stressed when I bought the HCG, Green Tea is an important part of the HCG Diet! I wrote more about my appreciation for Sobe Green Tea here.
The day was suprisingly easy, it amazes me how the HCG has suppressed my appetitie so much. I am not hungry at all, and I only ate 3 of the apples throughout the day. I drank as much water as I could to stay hydrated, and by the end of the day I felt fine.
My weigh in this morning went well. I lost a pound again and I am now weighing in at 226 lb’s. I was hoping to lose more with the Apple Diet, but it is good to see progress.
I am at the lowest weight I have been in years, and I am feeling great! I have energy and I am still waking up very easily in the morning. My body is functioning better and everything has been easier since I started the diet.
I lost a pound yesterday, so I am back at the weight I was on Day 4. I was hoping to lose a lot more than that. Since I have been hovering around the same weight for the last 3 days I have decided to do an apple day today. I went to the store and loaded up on apples, the theory is you eat 5 apples throughout the day and it resets the diet. I am not sure if it will work, but I thought I would give it a try.
While I was at the store I found a Green Tea that I like. It is the Sobe Lean Green Tea, it only has 5 calories compared to the 100 calories the regular Sobe Green Tea has. I like it a lot, so I am going to drink that from now on. I am going on apples and Green Tea today, not my ideal diet, but if it helps me lose my excess weight I will do it.
While I was hoping to lose more than a pound, I have to keep things in perspective. I am 6 pounds lighter than when I started, my clothes feel better and I can see my body slimming down everyday. In all I have been very satisfied with the results.
Up until this morning I had been giving myself the injections in my stomach. I started on my right side, then went to my left, then the middle. I would rotate everyday. Today I decided to mix it up and I gave myself the shot in my butt. We will see if that makes a difference, or not.
Weigh in today – 227…again.
Day 5 of the HCG diet has come and gone. It was kind of a frustrating day, but that is too be expected for a diet of this nature. After losing a lot of weight fast, I actually gained a pound on Day 5. This has left me wondering where I messed up and what I need to do to not let that happen again. I understand things like this can happen, I was just hoping it wouldn’t happen to me.
I am going to run through what I ate and analyze what I think went wrong. Breakfast was not a problem, I had an orange and it was a great orange at that. Lunch consisted of a salad, not a very big salad either. It had tomatoes, peppers, chicken and spray-on italian dressing. I got a little crazy for dinner and this is where I went wrong. I had an idea that I could get an entree of Panda Express without the rice and that would count for my second portion of meat for the day. I also grabbed a Sobe Green Tea.
On this diet I am supposed to have a lot of Green Tea and Water, I haven’t found a Green Tea that I can stand, so I wanted to try the Sobe. It was great, it didn’t taste like the other stuff I had tried. However after I drank it I looked at the ingredients and noticed it had 100 calories and the other crap green tea didn’t have any. It looks like I will continue my quest to find a decent Green Tea, if anyone knows of a good one let me know. I prefer it to not look and taste like Vegetable Oil. So the Sobe was a bad choice, I need to train myself to look at the labels beforehad.
The Orange Chicken was a gamble and while it would have been a great meal when I want something spicy, I will not be doing it again. I am not very smart when it comes to how things are prepared and how it affect a diet. If I am told Chicken is good for a diet, than all chicken is good for a diet. I am learning that this is not the case at all. Apparently there is a huge difference in how you prepare chicken. I always knew fried chicken wasn’t the best due to the breading and grease, but I didn’t realize how bad it actually was. I think I can thank the fried chicken at Panda Express for making me gain an extra pound today. While I love Panda Express, it is going to have to wait until this diet is over and I can manage my weight.
While I am still down 5 pounds overall, I could be doing better. I am weighing in at 228 today and I am hoping tomorrow the scale drops to around 226-225.
The weekend was as hard as I thought it was going to be, but I survived. Both my family and my in-laws are very active and we love getting together in the summer for Bar-B-Ques. This weekend was no different, we had a Bar-B-Que scheduled for Saturday and Sunday night. I love grilled food and this is a big reason why I find myself in the position I am today.
On Saturday we had a family shower for my Sister-in-Laws wedding. I am the designated Bar-B-Quer in the family, so I had to cook Chicken, Steak and Grilled Pineapple for about 40 people. There is a theory that you never trust a skinny cook… well I am definitely not a skinny cook. Not to brag, or toot my own horn, but I can grill up a very tasty meal on the Bar-B-Que. It was hard cooking the meat and not eating it off the grill like I usually do. I mean, someone has to test it right? I did very well at resisting the urge and luckily I had someone else there that was more than willing to test the meat (It passed with flying colors).
When I was dishing up my plate I was very careful with what I selected. The HCG Diet recommends 2 meat portions per day, 2 fruit portions per day and unlimited Salad and vegetables. I had already had 1 fruit and 1 meat portion. I limited myself to a very small peice of chicken and only 1 strip of flank steak, I can usually eat like 5 strips. I avoided the beans, even though they were my favorite kind with bacon, and only had a salad and 1 piece of grilled pineapple for my sides. Since the meat was marinaded it was probably not the best thing for the diet, but I have been told that it will not destroy the diet to eat like that occasionally.
I mowed my yard right before th Bar-B-Que and the next day when I weighed myself I was 5 pounds lighter than i was the day before. I was at 229 on Sunday morning, the 5th day of the diet. I had lost 4 pounds total sincethe day I started.
On Sunday night I had another challenge. My brother and his wife invited us out to a Bar-B-Que at their house. While I am very good on the grill, my brother makes me look like an amateur. He is amazing, everything he grills turns out perfect. He is the one that taught me how to Bar-B-Que and I doubt the student will ever take down the master in this situation. He grilled up a simple cheeseburger for us, which was horrible for the diet. The meat was okay, but the marinade, buns and sauces were probably bad. I limited myself to 1 burger (I could have easily downed another) and ate watermelon and salad. They did twist my arm and I had a little dessert to go with it.
For lunch I only had an orange, and breakfast I had a banana. So the watermelon was 1 more fruit serving than I should have had and the buns on the cheeseburger were not great for the diet. The dessert was a bad idea, and I thought for sure I would pay for it when I stepped on the scale this morning. However, even with the bad dinner I lost 2 pounds from the previous day.
I weighed in this morning at 227, the lowest I have been in quite some time. I am finally convinced that the HCG is in fact having a huge impact on my weight loss. I am not that hungry and it is getting easier to follow the diet. My appetite has been suppressed, just like they said it would, and I am starting to notice a difference.
The biggest change is in my morning routine. Before I started the HCG diet I had a hard time waking up and getting to work at 8:30. Since I have started the HCG Diet I am awake and going at 6:30 every morning. I have energy throughout the day and I feel better about myself. My shirts and pants are feeling better and my wife keeps commenting about how good I look. All of this after losing 7 pounds, I can’t imagine what it will be like when I lose 50 pounds!
Day 2 of the HCG diet went fairly well. It was the second day of the fat intake, so it was hard to eat fatty foods all day again. By the end of dinner I was very relieved that the fatty intake portion of the diet was over. Last night I was very excited to really get started on the diet.
It is recommended to drink a lot of green tea, which I have never had before. I went out and bought a couple of Lipton Iced Teas, bananas and a couple of bags of salad and some spray salad dressing. I am all set for today, tonight my wife and I will go out and shop for everything else I can have.
In another post I will detail exactly what I can and can not eat. I am still figuring it out myself, but ti is not as restrictive as I originally had thought. I can have 2 servings of meat and 2 servings of fruit, and as much salad as I want. I can also have as much vegetables as I want. This is great for me because I love peppers, celery, cucumbers, and everything else I am allowed to eat. While it may be restrictive in some areas, it allows me to stay full with other things. Plus I love eating fruits and vegetables.
My fat body may look like I have a serious sweet tooth, but that is not the case. I would much rather have some fruit than a dessert. When I was young my Great Grandma would bake a cake for my siblings and cousins, and then she would always prepare a huge salad for me. She thought it was amazing that my favorite food at such a young age was salad. Don’t get me wrong, I still like sweets, but at least the alternative while on the HCG Diet is something I love as well.
Day 2 went well, we will see what happens as the Diet kicks into full effect on Day 3.
As of the morning on Day 3 I am 233 pounds. I have gained a pound since Day 1, but that is understandable with the foods I have been eating. My dream goal is to drop below 200 while on this round of the HCG Diet. It is a pretty lofty goal, but I think if I follow everything like I should I can obtain it.
I decided to try the HCG Weight Loss Diet to help me lose the excess weight I have been carrying around. I have looked into this for about a month now and everyone I have talked to has had success. After looking at all of the factors I have decided to give it a try. We are friends with a lady that is a nurse and sells the HCG Weight Loss Diet. She has done a ton of research about this diet and has even used it herself. When my wife and I went over to visit her and buy everything, my wife commented that she had never looked so good.
I am doing the injections, which at first seemed like it would be difficult, but after the first shot I have realized it is not difficult at all. It is a really small needle and it does not hurt at all. There is also a treatment you can do by placing the HCG below your tongue and taking it orally. For me the price was too good to pass up on the injections.
The first day was very difficult, due to the fact that you have to eat as much fat as possible. The first 2 days consist of eating fatty foods that will replenish my fat cells for the duration of the diet. I am doing the 20 day injections for now, with the possibility of increasing it to the 40 day injections if I like the results. Yesterday and today I am trying to eat fat and getting ready for the diet to actually begin. It has been difficult in that for the last year I have been trying to avoid fatty foods whenever I can, to seek them out is difficult and almost makes me sick thinking about it. Tomorrow I am down to a 500 calorie diet which I will continue to document for everyone to read.
Hopefully tomorrow I will have a good weight loss update, I imagine it will really kick into effect once I start the strict diet. I did not want to try a diet like this, but this one is different than all of the other diets I looked at. The HCG supposedly breaks down the fat cells and burns up to 4,000 calories a day. This makes the 500 calorie diet possible and helps decrease your appetite. I will let you know if these claims are true as we go along.
If you are in the Salt Lake Valley and interested in the HCG Weight Loss Diet, contact me at travis@dropping50.com and I will provide you with the contact information for where I received it.
Keep coming back and I will keep you updated on my progress. I am going to try and post everyday with results and progress, so anyone interested in the HCG Weight Loss Diet can see how it went for me.
Wish me luck!
